Carrot Top
The comedian synonymous with "prop comedy" is still best when he's hauling out the visual gags, though he often settles for mere sound, lighting, wind and pyrotechnic effects to augment his stand-up routines.

Reviews
The Amazing Johnathan
Amazing Johnathan This one-time street performer maintains his show of twisted comedy and pseudo-magic, which has evolved into a consistently funny showcase. (Planet Hollywood)

Louie Anderson
Las Vegas has been a consistent part of Anderson's up-and-down career since 1987, so he's an old smoothie at crowd banter and casino gambling jokes. His written material has taken on more of an edge while losing most of the self-pity, and topics such as his heart surgery are more universal than they once were. (Excalibur)

Carrot Top Carrot Top
The comedian synonymous with "prop comedy" is still best when he's hauling out the visual gags, though he often settles for mere sound, lighting, wind and pyrotechnic effects to augment his stand-up routines. It all somehow rises to the energy level of the manic and perturbed comic, who makes his career-long lack of respect part of the act as well. (Luxor)

Anthony Cools
cools This Canadian hypnotist has more of a comedian's timing than any of his local competitors, and is blessed with the slightly shifty, lecherous stage presence of one who enjoys his late nights. (Paris Las Vegas)

Vinnie Favorito
The comic practices what he calls "street level" comedy, which makes him seem quite at home in a room that until very recently hosted the World Series of Poker. (O'Sheas)

Gregory Popovich's Comedy Pet Theater
Gregory Popovich, a veteran of the Moscow State Circus, offers a throwback to European circus arts mostly left behind in the era of Cirque du Soleil's hip makeovers. The human cast is upstaged by trained dogs and cats in a show that's musty but somehow irresistible. (Planet Hollywood)

'Dr. Scott Lewis: Outrageous Comedy Hypnotist'
Lewis shows good timing, riding the coattails of the reality TV boom. (Riviera)

Ronn Lucas
Ventriloquist Ronn Lucas helps restore an audience's sense of wonder. (Rio)

Rita Rudner
The soft-spoken comedian offers the rare comedy act that's both inoffensive yet insightful. (Harrah's) Bobby Slayton
The "Pit Bull of Comedy" dishes out the raunchy insult humor to front-row victims, but the veteran stand-up is most compelling when telling the raw truth about himself. The outrageous material is grounded in just enough authentic detail to give it an honest edge. (5/4/07 M.W.) (Hooters)
George Wallace
Time is on the side of this veteran stand-up comedian of the same observational school as his good buddy, Jerry Seinfeld. Acting the grouchy old man gives Wallace's hoarse, exasperated delivery an added punch. (Flamingo)
