Henderson police officers traveling in pairs after Baton Rouge shooting

Henderson and North Las Vegas police said Sunday that officers will patrol in pairs after a Baton Rouge, Louisiana, shooting left three police officers dead.

The Metropolitan Police Department officers have been patrolling in two-officer units since July 7, when a sniper killed five Dallas police officers and injured nine others.

The department said there have been no reports of threats to Henderson officers, but police are traveling in pairs as a safety measure for both officers and Henderson residents.

Henderson police will continue to patrol in pairs “in the coming days,” as the department evaluates the need for the extra safety measure.

North Las Vegas police spokeswoman Ann Cavaricci said Sunday that officers will ride in pairs until further notice.
