Comic book paraphernalia lines shelves at Ink & Vector pop-up shop

Shoppers at Planet Hollywood Resort’s Miracle Mile can now purchase their favorite Hello Kitty, Marvel Comics, “Star Trek,” “Star Wars,” “Transformers” and “Walking Dead” gear as a new pop-up store, Ink &Vector, made its debut on April 1.

“We’re targeting people who have an obsession,” manager Angela Ramirez said. “It’s like going to Comic-Con, but better.”

Ramirez said the apparel and accessories store targets every age group. “It doesn’t matter what age you are, everyone loved something from their childhood,” she said. “Everything you love is here.”

As Canadian Shayla McKenna wandered into Ink &Vector, a Spider-Man sweatshirt caught her attention. “This store is different from anything we have in Canada,” she said. “There are so many different types of clothing and it’s right outside our hotel, which is really convenient.”

Ink &Vector boasts a wide selection of T-shirts, key chains, cups, socks and sweatshirts, among other items.

Sales associate Jessica Jones said her favorite things about the store are its atmosphere and diversity in products.

“It’s an open and welcoming environment,” Jones said. “We have an area where shoppers can sit and read their favorite comics and we also have television shows and movies playing, so it’s an interactive shopping environment.”

Jones added that Ink &Vector sees a lot of “Walking Dead” fans pass through.

“We have enough things so they can represent their fandom,” she said.

Locals are also invited to take part, Jones said.

“It adds to the local scene because of its downtown feel,” she said. “The same environment that attracts tourists can be a place that locals can come, too.”

Pam VanLersberghe, another Canadian visitor, was drawn into the store by its sci-fi items.

“It’s close to the casino and convenient to where we’re staying,” she said of Ink &Vector. “I also love the movie memorabilia and selection of cool socks they have.”

The 1,082-square-foot store is expected to be open until the end of the summer.
