Copa Airlines to offer nonstop flights to Panama City

McCarran International Airport will pick up another foreign carrier on the same day it opens the new Terminal 3, as Copa Airlines announced it would launch nonstop flights to Panama City, Panama, on June 27.

Copa will fly the route four times a week, leaving at 5:37 a.m. so passengers can catch connections to other parts of Latin America through the Panama City hub.

Copa will become the only non-Mexican airline going directly from Las Vegas to Central and South America. However, travelers can currently get here through a number of U.S. hubs, including Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth and Los Angeles.

In recent years, Copa, an affiliate of United Continental, has been broadening its presence in the U.S. with six other destinations.
