Marie Callender’s closing one restaurant in Las Vegas, one in Reno

The owner of the bankrupt Marie Callender's restaurant and bakery chain has closed two of its seven restaurants in Nevada.

Vivian Brooks, a spokeswoman for the Memphis, Tenn.-based company, said Tuesday a store at 4874 W. Flamingo Road in Las Vegas was closed Sunday.

The company also closed a Reno restaurant at 6365 S. McCarran Blvd. on Sunday.

Brooks said the five remaining Nevada stores are in Las Vegas and Henderson.

The two closures have led to layoffs of about 90 employees.

Perkins & Marie Callender's Inc. filed for Chapter 11 reorganization Monday in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Delaware.
