New president of Verizon Wireless Southwest Region selected

Eric Reed has been named president of the Verizon Wireless Southwest Region, succeeding Andrés Irlando who has been appointed to lead Verizon Telematics based in Atlanta.

As regional president, Reed is based in Chandler, Ariz., and is responsible for the company’s sales, operations, financial performance and customer experience in Las Vegas; El Paso, Texas; Arizona; New Mexico; and the Southern Utah markets of St. George and Cedar City.

Most recently, Reed served as executive director for Verizon Wireless’ Hawaii market, responsible for retail, business, indirect and data sales, as well as marketing and sales operations.

Reed brings more than 14 years of wireless industry experience in a variety of leadership roles to the new assignment. He joined Verizon in 2002 as a national account manager in Southern California and was named director, business sales in 2009. He is also a two-time recipient of the Verizon Wireless President’s Cabinet Award, which is given annually to the top 1 percent of salespeople in the company.

Reed earned a bachelor’s degree from Biola University in La Mirada, Calif.
