Driver arrested for DUI in crash that killed passenger

Police arrested a man suspected of driving under the influence after a crash in western Las Vegas that killed a passenger early Wednesday.

According to Las Vegas police, Ralph Homer Corpuz, 21, was driving a Ford Mustang west on Alta Drive near Pavilion Center Drive at about 3:20 a.m. when he lost control of the car, struck a tree while crossing the center median and continued into the eastbound lane.

Corpuz and the passenger, a 19-year-old male, were taken to University Medical Center where the passenger died. Corpuz sustained minor injuries. He is in the Clark County jail on suggested charges of driving under the influence that caused a death.
