Man found dead in Wal-Mart parking lot identified

A man found dead in a car outside of a Walmart earlier this month was identified Thursday by the Clark County coroner's office as 47-year-old Thomas Prata.

Prata was from Las Vegas. The coroner's office hasn't determined his cause and manner of death yet.

Las Vegas police said Prata's body was discovered about 3 a.m. Oct. 9 in the parking lot of the Walmart at 6005 Eastern Ave., near Russell Road.

Las Vegas police spokesman Jose Hernandez said it appears Prata's death was a suicide.
