Albertsons surveys snack habits
We’re gearing up for Super Bowl weekend, arguably the snackingest weekend of the year. But don’t take my word for it; Albertsons second annual Snack Down Survey revealed some specific things about Las Vegans and their snacking.
For instance, Las Vegans led the national survey in how many (55 percent) say they will feel no guilt for snacking during the Super Bowl. About 21 percent plan to spend more than $100 on foods and snacks for their Big Game parties, the second-highest after Los Angeles. And more Las Vegans plan to eat burgers than pizza — which is at least a little heartening considering that the folks at Vlassic Pickles and Finlandia Cheese report that more than 28 million pounds of potato chips will be eaten nationwide during the game. …
El Segundo Sol at the Fashion Show mall, 3200 Las Vegas Blvd. South, timed its “Cinco de” series right, considering that Cinco de Febrero falls on Saturday of Super Bowl weekend. Loco Hour prices will be in effect all day. …
And Pink’s Hot Dogs at Planet Hollywood, 3667 Las Vegas Blvd. South, has introduced the Louie Dog, named for comedian Louie Anderson, which has yellow mustard, sauerkraut and onion. A portion of Louie Dog sales will be donated to the Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth. …
