Beer pong tournament bounces back to Las Vegas

Bpong.com brings the World Series of Beer Pong for the second consecutive year to the Flamingo Las Vegas Saturday through Monday.

The tournament is the largest of its kind, and the winner takes home a prize of $50,000 and the title of Beer Pong World Champion.

The tournament runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday in the hotel's Sunset Ballroom. Tickets are $20 per day, $50 for the three-day tournament, or $35 for Sunday and Monday admission.

This year's tournament marks the fifth annual competition. Last year's event drew more than 800 participants.

Beer Pong, also widely known as Beirut, is a game that has gained popularity in recent years. Members of two-person teams attempt to lob Beer Pong balls (similar to table tennis balls) into the opposing team's cups placed at opposite ends of a long table.
