DINING OUT
LAGO, BELLAGIO, 3600 LAS VEGAS BLVD. SOUTH
Lago, from Michelin-starred chef Julian Serrano, opened April 11 on the lake — appropriately enough — that’s home to the Fountains of Bellagio. It’s Serrano’s third Las Vegas restaurant, after Picasso, also at Bellagio, which opened with the resort in 1998, and his eponymous tapas restaurant at Aria. There is, of course, an outdoor patio overlooking the fountains, and the interior is colorful, with accents including a 1,500-square-foot mosaic map of Milan, Italy. Here’s a sample of the menu:
Soups and salads: Chilled tomato soup, $10; pasta fagioli with mussels, $12; crabmeat and farro salad, $17; heirloom tomatoes with ricotta salata, $14; Caesar salad, $12.
Small plates: Chicken liver with capers and pepperoncino on toasted bread, $8; ricotta cheese and honey focaccia, $9; pizza Margherita, $14; raw ahi tuna with orange segments, $19; raw Skuna Bay salmon with crispy capers, $16; roasted potatoes with garlic and rosemary, $9; cheese platter, $17; salumi, $18.
Entrees: Baked boneless whole fish for two, $60; catch of the day en papillote, $34; semiboneless spring chicken with grilled eggplant, $28; osso buco, $45; beef tenderloin with asparagus, $45; one-pound bone-in rib-eye with potatoes and asparagus, $50; squid ink garganelli with whole lobster, $55.
Desserts: Biancomangiare (raspberry and vanilla cream, shortbread cookie, fresh berries and strawberry gelato), tiramisu, panna cotta agli agrumi (vanilla bean panna cotta with fresh citrus), gelati/sorbetti, Giandujotto (vanilla cremeux with gianduja mousse, caramelized hazelnuts and chocolate financier), all $10.
Hours are from 5 to 11 p.m. Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and 5 p.m. to midnight Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Call 702-693-7111 or visit www.bellagio.com.
