Dining Pick of the Week: Bronze Cafe

Bronze Cafe at The Center

Gay & Lesbian Community Center of Southern Nevada, 401 S. Maryland Parkway, 702-202-3100

Tucked just inside the entrance of the Gay & Lesbian Community Center of Southern Nevada, the Bronze Cafe combines a community center meets coffee shop feel. The menu brings fresh flavors to a variety of soups, sandwiches and salads. Whether it’s the California turkey with avocado, tomato and basil aioli for $8.95 or the LGBTQ with bacon jam, maple-glazed bacon and mixed greens for $9.95, Bronze Cafe’s signature lemon vinaigrette is a good addition to any sandwich. Sandwiches are made to order and most can be turned into a vegan option upon request. Soups and sides, such as the curried quinoa or roasted broccoli with hemp hearts (each $3.95), are vegetarian and gluten-free. If you’re not there to try the entrees, Bronze Cafe has a variety of pastries that can hit the sweet spot, including chocolate chip, Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Fruity Pebbles cookies for $1.75 each. Loving v. Virginia, $3.75, features a cookie baked inside a brownie. Also in the pastry department, the cafe offers a variety of scones from bacon jam to poblano cheddar, each $2.50. There are vegan and gluten-free options for those who have a sweet tooth but are restricted. A slice of vegan “cheese” cake, $4.25, comes in a variety of flavors, including mango, raspberry and espresso. The cafe has different flavors each day. Prices range from $1 to $13. Bronze Cafe is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
