Ethel M Chocolates revives Mars Bar, Forever Yours candy bars

Why tinker with a good thing? Ethel M Chocolates has clearly decided that the original is best, at least when it come to two classic candy bars. The Henderson-based company has revived the Mars Bar and Forever Yours candy bars, using the original 1932 and 1936 recipes, respectively, and suitably retro packaging.

The Mars Bar, which is milk chocolate with creamy nougat and whole toasted almonds, has been only periodically available in the United States in recent years (and with an altered recipe), although it was sold in Europe and Canada.

The Forever Yours bar — created in 1926 as the Vanilla Milky Way and renamed in 1936 — was discontinued in 1979. It’s buttery caramel and vanilla nougat, covered in bittersweet dark chocolate.

They’re $2.99 for one, $9.99 for four, $39.99 for a case of 16 (Mars) or $37.99 for a case of 15 (Forever Yours) at Ethel M stores, ethelm.com, amazon.com and some Cracker Barrel stores.
