While you would probably think buffets are the biggest food trend in Nevada, that’s not quite the case. According to a report from the Huffington Post, the most disproportionately popular food in Nevada is Filipino.
The map, made in collaboration with Yelp, shows Nevada as only one of two states with this food, along with Alaska. It also shows the popularity of steak in some of the northern states, as well as West Virginia’s love of hot dogs.
The map doesn’t show the most popular food in each state, but instead the most disproportionately popular. Yelp found the results after analyzing which types of restaurants were most popular in each state compared to the national average.
Filipino food tops the list in Nevada at 277 percent higher than the national average, followed by Hawaiian at 238 percent, buffets at 156 percent, steak at 84 percent and vegan at 66 percent higher.
The top rated Filipino restaurants on Yelp in Las Vegas are Full House BBQ on the east side and Thelma’s Filipino Restaurant near Sunset Road and Marks Street in Henderson.
