Is ‘Mad Max’ a feminist movie?

“Mad Max: Fury Road” has been hailed as a great apocalyptic movie with pro-feminist leanings. But is Charlize Theron’s character as empowered as, say, Sigourney Weaver’s role was in the “Aliens” franchise?
I answer that and other questions (such as “Are the New England Patriots the new Pete Rose?”), with my buddy Ched Whitney in today’s episode of the “Doug Elfman Show,” available now and for free on iTunes, podcast apps such as Podcast Addict, and DougElfman.com.
If you don’t have time for the podcast: I think the movie doesn’t live up to the hype. It’s redundant. And I prefer my feminist movies not to have women being victimized as milk slaves wearing Victoria’s Secret-esque togas. But that’s just me. Let me know if you disagree.
By the way, the lay-down-as-if-you’re-in-bed seats at AMC Rainbow Promenade 10, 2321 N. Rainbow Blvd., are amazing. Who knew?
