‘Jubilee!’, the Strip’s longest-running production, to close Feb. 11

The long-rumored closure of the iconic production show "Jubilee!" became official Sunday.

Bally's Las Vegas announced the finale of Donn Arden's showgirl spectacular will be Feb. 11.

It is the longest-running production on the Strip.

"Jubilee!" opened in 1981 at the original MGM Grand, replacing "Hallelujah Hollywood," another Arden production. "Jubilee!" went into the MGM Grand eight months after the hotel was rebuilt following the tragic fire of Nov. 21, 1980. Bally's purchased the property in 1985.

In a news release, Bally's President David Hoenemeyer said "some exciting developments in our entertainment lineup" will be revealed in the coming months.
