Actor Kevin Spacey attacks Donald Trump during amfAR gala at Cannes Film Festival

LOS ANGELES — The annual amfAR auction at the Cannes Film Festival got off to a racy start on Thursday night when emcee Kevin Spacey took the stage, blasting presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.
Dressed in a patriotic suit, Spacey opened his comedy routine by doing an impersonation of Johnny Carson, telling the Cannes crowd that amfAR regular Sharon Stone couldn’t make it to the South of France because she was fighting another disease.
“The name of the disease is Donald Trump,” Spacey said to uncomfortable laughter. “Foreign films contain two things Donald Trump hates the most: foreigners and reading,” he continued.
“I don’t think I could ever vote for a candidate who wasn’t in favor of separation of man and face,” Spacey said, referring to Trump’s chin.
“Donald Trump would probably love it here, because there are so many casinos to bankrupt,” he continued.
Spacey also went after other celebrities.
“They forecast 30 percent chance of showers,” he said. “By that they meant Shia LaBeouf would actually take one.”
Then Spacey had Faye Dunaway join him onstage, where he turned his jacket inside out to play Bill Clinton.
“I just want to tell you the state of the United States is a f-ing mess, since I left,” Spacey said as Clinton.

He also suggested that this year’s Cannes amfAR headliner Katy Perry had an open relationship with boyfriend Orlando Bloom.
He concluded by changing one last time to portray the late Jack Lemmon, doing another string of jokes.
The barbed monologue was met with a mixed reaction from the upscale crowd of European VIPs. While some of the jokes drew laughs, they also seemed mean for a gala — now in its 23rd year — that raises funds to fight HIV/AIDS.
