Helicopter ride to EDC costs less than one to Bonnaroo

Is it really cheaper to take a helicopter to EDC than Bonnaroo?
Yes, indeedy, neighbor, by about 700 bucks, in fact.
Wait, you didn’t even know that was a thing? Don’t feel bad. Neither did we, actually — but really, why would we? If we’re keeping it really real here, we can scarcely afford to have this conversation, much less actually flip for a lift on a chopper.
At any rate, for the sake of discussion, here’s the deal: For a mere $500 to $800 (one-way versus round-trip), you can ride the friendly skies to EDC and circumvent traffic entirely. Or if you want to ride in style with a half-dozen of your closest friends, you can charter a ‘copter for $3,000 to $5000 (same as above). Oh, and that’s per night, by the way, available through Maverick Helicopter (maverickhelicopter.com).
While that may seem a bit steep, before you gasp incredulously, this is actually a bargain, compared with what’s being offered in Tennesee. For the same sort of superior shuttle service to Bonnaroo in Manchester, you can expect to part with $1,500.
Granted, the commute is considerably farther — 60-plus miles versus about 15 from the Strip — and the fee to Bonnaroo also comes with a ride to the helipad and a ride back to Nashville (via Uber, which is also coordinating these flights), but still. Also, these helicopters can carry up to three people, and there’s reportedly an option in which the fare can be split.
So there you have it. News you can use, if you happen to be in a (much) higher tax bracket than us — though there’s got to be some way we can expense this, right?
