St. Olaf’s Christmas concert at Las Vegas theaters

Minnesota's St. Olaf College has been showcasing the sounds of the season for a century.

But Las Vegas audiences can join the celebration at theaters Sunday afternoon during a live simulcast of "Rejoice, Give Thanks, and Sing -- 100th St. Olaf Christmas Festival Live."

More than 500 student musicians in five choirs will perform such works as John Rutter's "Shepherd's Pipe Carol" and Ralph Vaughan Williams' "Ring Out, Ye Crystal Spheres." Before the two-hour concert, a half-hour retrospective will focus on the 100-year history of the holiday event, with students, faculty members and alumni discussing the impact of the annual festival.

The live simulcast is scheduled to be presented at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at six local multiplexes: Cinemark's Orleans, Sam's Town, Santa Fe and South Point and Regal's Colonnade and Village Square.

Tickets are available at theater box offices or online at www.fathomevents.com. More information on St. Olaf's celebration is available online at www.stolaf.edu.
