Tickets available for Vegas remembrance of Celine Dion’s husband, Rene Angelil

The Colosseum at Caesars Palace will host "A Celebration of Life" at 7 p.m. Wednesday to remember Rene Angelil, the late husband and career-long manager of Celine Dion.

The event is free but ticketed. General admission tickets are being distributed starting at 10 a.m. Thursday. They are available only in person at the Colosseum box office, and limited to four per person. Admission will be first-come, first-served on Wednesday with doors opening at 6:30 p.m.

A series of guest speakers will remember Angelil through stories and reminiscences, according to a news release. Angelil died on Jan. 14 after a long battle with throat cancer, just short of his 74th birthday.

Angelil's formal funeral was held at the Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal on Jan. 22. Fans lined the streets outside the service in sub-freezing weather.

He had plenty of friends in Las Vegas too, as a committed poker player and part-year resident of Henderson's Lake of Las Vegas community after closing the 2003 deal for Dion to become a resident headliner at the Colosseum.
