‘Rock of Love Bus’ winner adds to resume with ‘Centerfolds of Magic’

You may not miss a show called “Striptease.” You may not even know there was one.
But Taya Parker says she never truly understood the phrase “I was born to do this” until she hosted and danced in the short-lived topless revue at the Sahara in 2010.
“Then I got it. I don’t think it’s something you know until you’re doing it,” says the entertainer who has been both a Penthouse Pet of the Year and “Rock of Love Bus” winner.
“I’ve been trying to get back ever since I left,” she says.
And now she is, as the centerpiece of “Centerfolds of Magic,” a new topless late show at the Plaza.
“Striptease” proved her to be an animated presence. “You have to get to a point where you’re comfortable in your own skin before you can come off authentic,” she says, no pun apparently attended.
She says the sexiness, whether for magazines or dancing on a stage, is more difficult to summon. “The goofy party girl — that’s my personality. I probably have more in common with Joe.”
Joe as in Tramell, the show’s host and performer of a quick-change spoof of pop culture, where he has been known to show as much skin as the female dancers.
Parker is just part of a team here. But she is the focal point of the advertising, because she was the one riding the “Rock of Love Bus.”
“It was just pure marketing genius,” she says of the Bret Michaels dating game. “I’m telling you, to this day people still recognize me.”
Parker admits she “probably deserved” a bit of the diva label she wore on the show. That’s because, as she wasn’t ashamed to tell the other women, “You’re going to get off the show and this is going to be your resume. I’m just going to add to my resume.”
