Teen from ‘Queen of Versailles’ documentary dies of unknown causes

A teen whose family was featured in the “The Queen of Versailles” documentary died on Saturday of unknown causes, an Orange County Sheriff’s Office spokesman confirmed.

Westgate Resorts timeshare company founder David Siegel, his wife, Jackie, and their eight children were featured in “The Queen of Versailles,” Lauren Greenfield’s 2012 documentary about the impact of the recession on the family’s attempt to build a 90,000-square-foot home.

It’s still under construction. If it’s completed, it could still be the largest privately owned house in America.

Victoria Siegel, 18, was found unresponsive in her family’s Windermere, Florida, home on Saturday by Orange County Sheriff’s Department patrol deputies, according to sheriff’s spokesman Jeff Williamson.

She was transported to Health Central Hospital in Ocoee, where she was pronounced dead.

“It is with great sadness that we ask you to respect our privacy during this tragic time and the loss of our beloved daughter, Victoria,” Jackie Siegel wrote on her Facebook page. “Thank you all for your prayers and for your support. As more information comes out the family will share it, until that time there is no comment.”

Williamson said investigators and the medical examiner are working to find out how and why Victoria Siegel died.

Jackie Siegel recently participated in the ABC television program “Celebrity Wife Swap,” which aired Wednesday. She swapped her life with actor Jeremy London’s wife, Juliet. The Londons live on a ranch in Oklahoma.
