Gold Spike giving away weekend stay in ‘Real World’ penthouse — VIDEO

If you’ve always dreamed of being a cast member on MTV’s classic reality series “Real World,” here’s your chance … well, sort of. The Gold Spike in downtown Las Vegas is giving one lucky winner the chance to live out their “Real World” dreams by staying in the suite that housed the cast of season 31.

Through June 1, the Gold Spike is hosting a contest to give away a free weekend stay in the “Real World’s” seventh-floor penthouse suite that was occupied by the seven strangers, who were picked to live in a house, work together and have their lives taped, last October through December.

The 5,000-square-foot penthouse suite, which is accessible only by elevator to those with an activated room key, went through a complete overhaul prior to the group’s arrival.

What was once a floor of six separate suites was transitioned in four to six weeks into one mega-penthouse featuring three bedrooms and seven beds. Although the additional suites were removed in the remodel, the floor’s original hallway runs through the middle of the penthouse.

The suite still has a “Real World” feel to it, without all the bells and whistles of cameras and production crews lurking around 24/7, tracking your every move.

You can opt to make a visit to the “Real World’s” infamous “Confessional Room.” Now it’s just an eccentrically designed room with no recording devices. Likewise, if you’ve watched a couple episodes this season, you’ll notice that the computer on which the housemates receive their weekly challenges isn’t on the wall or in the penthouse at all.

You’ll want to make sure you’re comfortable with whomever you choose to stay in the suite with you because the penthouse still features a community-style bathroom. It does have some closed off toilet areas, but still.

If you wanted to reserve a night’s stay in the Gold Spike’s “Real World” penthouse without trying your luck at the contest, depending on the season, rates run about $2,200 Sunday-Thursday and around $2,500 Friday-Saturday.

One of the most iconic features of this season’s cast has been their use of hoverboards to move about the penthouse. Unfortunately, hoverboards are not included in the stay.

In case you don’t win Gold Spike’s give away — and since the penthouse is off-limits to the public — check out our video tour and photo gallery of the “Real World” suite above.
