GLVAR announces 2018 officers and board members

The Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors recently announced the results of its annual election of officers and board members, with longtime local Realtors Christopher Bishop serving as 2018 president and Janet Carpenter serving as 2018 president-elect.

“I’m looking forward to what will be accomplished in 2018 with this group,” said 2017 GLVAR President David J. Tina, who will serve as GLVAR’s immediate past president next year. “I’m so proud of the current 2017 GLVAR board of directors. I truly believe that we have done so much great work and did it as a unified team. We still have a lot to do, but I’m confident that we will hand this board off to Chris and the 2018 directors better than we found it.”

Bishop and his fellow 2018 GLVAR officers and board members will be officially sworn into their new offices at GLVAR’s annual installation event scheduled for Dec. 9 at Red Rock Resort.

Thousands of GLVAR members voted from Sept. 18 to 20, electing the following officers and directors to lead Southern Nevada’s largest professional association in 2018: president, Bishop; president-elect, Carpenter; vice president; Krystal Sherry; treasurer, Tom Blanchard.

The directors are Jillian Batchelor, Amber DeLillo, Shyla Magee, Aldo Martinez and Mark Sivek.

Realtors not up for re-election who will continue to serve on the board are Tina, Shawn Cunningham, Tim Kelly Kiernan, Chantel Tilley and Julie Youngblood.

GLVAR was founded in 1947 and provides its more than 14,000 local members with education, training and political representation. The local representative of the National Association of Realtors is the largest professional organization in Southern Nevada. Each GLVAR member receives the highest level of professional training and must abide by a strict code of ethics. For more information, visit www.LasVegasRealtor.com.
