‘Art of the Party’ benefits trauma, burn center

Martin Lawrence Galleries in the Forum Shops at Caesars, the 26,000-square-foot flagship of the company, turned over its space to a chocolate-flavored, art-driven party to benefit University Medical Center’s Trauma and Burn Care Center.

The “Art of the Party” attracted more than 350 guests to view the fabulous artwork and enjoy an evening filled with music, passed canapes, hosted bars and chocolate in every form from Max Brenner Chocolate in the Forum Shops, including a shot of chocolate offered in individual syringes.

Male and female models stood on pedestals throughout the gallery to display the original art painted on their clothing. Guests intently watched as fashion stylist and designer Anthony Franco painted pop art on a linen suit worn by model Joe Locicero.

The gallery displays an extensive collection of paintings by Marc Chagall, Henri Matisse, Andy Warhol, Pablo Picasso and Jean-Michel Basquiat.

A gathering of acclaimed artists including Philippe Bertho, Robert Deyber, Francois Fressinier, Kerry Hallam, Douglas Hofmann, Liudmila Kondakova, Rene Lalonde and Felix Mas participated in the evening’s celebration joining gallery owner David Rogath and the president of Martin Lawrence Galleries, Eric Dannenna.

Las Vegas gallery director Stacie Goulet spoke about the Martin Lawrence Galleries being in business for more than 35 years, and during the past 15 years Martin Lawrence Galleries have loaned 250 artworks to more than 30 museums worldwide.

The company has galleries in New York ; Boston ; New Orleans ; Dallas ; Oak Brook, Ill. ; Maui, Hawaii ; and San Francisco, Orange County and La Jolla, Calif.

The gallery has been in Las Vegas for two years and this was the second time it has partnered with UMC, giving 100 percent of the ticket sales from the event to the county hospital.

Seen among the guests from UMC were CEO Brian Brannman; COO Lawrence Barnard and his wife, Kori; chief of staff Dale Carrison; Gregg Fusto and his wife, Nancy Donahoe; and John Fildes.
