Donny Osmond Home on display at Walker Furniture

Iconic singer and Las Vegas headliner Donny Osmond kicked off a national tour that will see him in furniture stores rather than showrooms. On Saturday, more than 500 people lined up at Walker Furniture at 301 S. Martin Luther King Blvd. to cheer him on, shake his hand and get an autographed photo.

He was surrounded by his new furniture line that he and wife, Debbie, debuted this winter at the Las Vegas Home Furnishing Market. That’s where he met Larry Alterwitz, CEO of Walker Furniture.

“It’s high style with good affordable prices,” Alterwitz said. “I know it’s going to be a hit.”

He said he sold 40 pieces before the grand opening of the gallery. Osmond said the two businessmen were planning something special at the end of this year to “give back to the community.” Something more, he said, than Walker’s traditional 20-year-old “Home for the Holidays” where dozens of Clark County residents receive a house full of furniture.
