2 bodies found at Lake Mead National Recreation Area

Two bodies were recovered from Lake Mead National Recreation Area near the areas where two men went missing mid-July, officials said Monday.
On Aug. 1, a visitor reported seeing a body floating in the water on Lake Mohave, recreation area spokeswoman Christie Vanover said. The body was recovered by park rangers. On July 20, a 53-year-old man who went missing two miles from where the body was recovered.
On Monday, volunteers from an environmental consulting company found a second body more than 300 feet underwater near Lake Mead’s Boulder Islands, Vanover said. Park rangers, Nevada Department of Wildlife game wardens and volunteers recovered that body. On July 20, a 25-year-old man went missing in that area.
The Clark County coroner’s office will confirm victims’ identities and determine the causes of death.
