Thirty people were displaced after an apartment complex caught fire in east Las Vegas Thursday morning, causing $1 million in damage.
Clark County firefighters responded to the Bella Estates apartments at 5101 E. Twain Ave., near Nellis Boulevard, about 11:30 a.m. after numerous calls of smoke coming from the area.
Firefighters had the blaze extinguished in about 30 minutes, according to Deputy Fire Chief Kelly Blackmon.
While the flames were contained to four upstairs apartment units, a total of 15 units received some sort of smoke, fire or water damage.
The residents who were displaced by the fire are being assisted by American Red Cross, Blackmon said. No injuries were reported.
