Craig Road reopens after gas leak
Craig Road reopened Monday about 2½ hours after a natural gas leak closed the section between Interstate 15 and Losee Road, the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada said.
The City of North Las Vegas Fire Department responded to the scene at 11:10 a.m., about five minutes after receiving reports of a loud sound and rotten-egg smell in the area.
Employees of nearby businesses were directed to remain inside until the leak was located and secured by the North Las Vegas, Clark County and City of Las Vegas Fire Departments. Southwest Gas was called in to repair the damaged line, and roads reopened at about 1:30 p.m.
The cause of the leak remains under investigation, and damage estimates have yet to be determined.
