Pool season is set to arrive with Memorial Day weekend. While many area indoor pools operate all year, seasonal pools traditionally wait for summer to arrive.
HENDERSON
The city of Henderson has a variety of pools throughout the city for residents to indulge in from June 3 to Aug. 28.
The city’s seasonal pools are open from noon to 6 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fridays through Sundays and inlcude: BMI Outdoor Swimming Pool, 105 W. Basic Road; Black Mountain Aquatic Complex, 599 Greenway Road; Henderson Multigenerational Activity Pool, 250 S. Green Valley Parkway; Silver Springs Outdoor Swimming Pool, 1951 Silver Springs Parkway; Wells Outdoor Pool, 1640 Price St.; and Whitney Ranch Activity Pool, 1575 B Galleria Drive.
For those who can’t wait a few weeks, there are year-round pools, including Henderson Multigenerational Indoor Pool, 250 S. Green Valley Parkway; Henderson Multigenerational Competition Pool, 250 S. Green Valley Parkway; Heritage Park Aquatic Complex, 310 S. Racetrack Road; and the Whitney Ranch Indoor Pool, 1575 C Galleria Drive.
The pool hours correspond with the recreation center hours: from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fridays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays, and closed Sundays and holidays. Visit cityofhenderson.com.

The pool at the M Resort, 12300 Las Vegas Blvd. South, is open to locals from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. The cost is $10. Visit themresort.com.
If the pools aren’t enough, Cowabunga Bay, 900 Galleria Drive, offers a variety of water rides and features. The park is open with select hours. Starting May 27, the park will be open daily until Sept. 5.
Summer hours for June and July are 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. During August, hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays, 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays and 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. It will be open from 1 to 6 p.m. Aug. 29 through Sept 2.

EAST VALLEY
City of Las Vegas pools
Carlos L. Martinez and Darrio J. Hall Family Pool, 889 N. Pecos Road, is set to open from noon to 5 p.m. May 21-22, May 28 through June 1, and June 4-7. Summer hours go into effect June 8 and are noon to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Long course lanes are open Mondays through Fridays and noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Call 702-229-1755.
Doolittle Pool, 1950 J St., is set to open from 1 to 5 p.m. May 28 and June 4 and then be open those same hours for the summer, Mondays through Saturdays beginning June 6. Call 702-229-1755.
Municipal Swimming Pool, 431 E. Bonanza Road, is set to be open year round. Summer hours have begun and are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. From 4 to 8 p.m. weekdays, the pool is adults only. The pool is open for all ages from noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays and is closed Sundays. Call 702-229-6309.
Baker Pool, 1100 E. St. Louis Ave., is set to open for the summer June 8 from 4 to 8 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. Call 702-229-1532.
Daily pool fees are $2 for ages 4 to 17, $3 for 18 to 49, $2 for 50 or older, and free for 3 or younger. An all-summer pool pass is $40 for an individual, $30 for adults 50 or older, and $60 for a family.

Clark County pools
Clark County pools are set to begin summer hours June 4.
Cora Coleman Senior Center pool, 2100 Bonnie Lane, is scheduled to be open from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 to 3 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, and is closed Saturdays and Sundays. The pool is open for adults 21 or older. Daily admission is $2 for 21 to 54 and $1 for 50 or older. A three-month swim pass is $30 for 21 to 54 and $20 for 50 or older. Hollywood Blvd., an indoor lap pool, is scheduled to be open from 6 a.m to 8 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, 6 to 10 a.m. and 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6 a.m to 7 p.m. Fridays, noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays and closed Sundays. The small indoor training pool is scheduled to be open for family swim hours from noon to 3:45 p.m. and 7 to 8 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, from 8 to 10 a.m., 2 to 3:45 p.m. and 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 8 a.m to 7 p.m. Fridays, from noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays and closed Sundays. The outdoor water park is scheduled to be open from noon to 4 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and noon to 6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Family swim nights are scheduled Mondays from 6 to 8 p.m. June 13 through Aug. 8. Additional open swim dates are scheduled from noon to 6 p.m. May 28-30, Aug. 20, 21, 27 and 28.
Amenities include a 10-lane indoor competition pool, an indoor instructional pool, an outdoor activity pool with interactive play equipment and water slides. An indoor party room and outdoor picnic space is available for a rental fee. Daily admission is $2 for ages 3 to 17, $3 for 18 to 54, and $1 for 55 or older. Buffalo Drive is set to open Memorial Day weekend from noon to 5 p.m. May 28-30 and then reopen daily from noon to 5 p.m. June 4 through Aug. 28 and noon to 5 p.m. Sept. 3-5. SOUTHWEST AND SPRING VALLEY
Garside Pool, 250 S. Torrey Pines Drive, is set to be open from noon to 5 p.m. May 28-30 and June 4-5. The pool is slated to offer open swim times from noon to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays June 6 through Aug. 21. Additional open swim times are scheduled Aug. 27 and 28 and Sept. 3-5. Admission is $3 for adults ages 18-49, $2 for seniors 50 or older and children 4 to 17, and free for children 3 or younger. An all-summer pool pass can be purchased for $75 for adults, $40 for children and seniors, or $120 for a family of six. The outdoor pool offers water slides, a 1-meter diving board, four lanes for lap swimming, shaded seating areas, picnic tables and lockers. Bill & Lillie Heinrich YMCA, 4141 Meadows Lane, is set to open for the season from noon to 5 p.m. Aug. 27 and 28. The center’s two outdoor pools, water park, splash zone and flume slides are scheduled to be open from noon to 5 p.m. daily June 4 through Aug. 5. West Flamingo Adult Activity Pool, 6255 W. Flamingo Road, is open all year. Open swim is offered in the indoor facility from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. The pool is closed Saturdays and Sundays. Construction is underway at the Summerlin Aquatic Center, adjacent to Wet’n’Wild, 7025 S. Fort Apache Road. According to a press release issued at the groundbreaking, the 24,940-square-foot facility, set to be complete by summer, will feature a 25-meter-by-25-yard lap pool with an area 9 feet deep where scuba classes can be held, as well as a 1,800-square-foot therapy pool for water aerobics, swimming lessons, physical therapy and other uses. SUMMERLIN-AREA
Desert Breeze Aquatic Facility: The pool at 8275 Spring Mountain Road is set to open Memorial Day weekend for outdoor swimming from noon to 6 p.m. May 28-30 and for the season June 4: noon to 4 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays; closed for private parties Fridays; and noon to 6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Daily admission is $2 for children 3 to 17, $3 for adults 18 to 54, $1 for seniors 55 or older and free for children 2 or younger; 90-day indoor/outdoor family passes for up to four family members residing in same household are $100 and $20 for each additional family member in the same household. A 90-day individual pass is $40 for youths 3 to 17; $60 for adults 18 to 54; and $20 for seniors 55 or older. Season passes can be purchased at any Clark County community center or aquatic center. Durango Hills Community Center YMCA Outdoor Pool & Water Park: The facility at 3521 N. Durango Drive is set to open Memorial Day weekend from noon to 5 p.m. May 28-30 and for the season June 4 from noon to 5 p.m. daily. Pavilion Center Pool: The enclosed 50-meter-by-25-yard indoor pool at 101 S. Pavilion Center Drive is open Monday through Saturday, with recreation/lap swim offered from noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays. The pool is closed Sundays. For a full list of times, visit lasvegasnevada.gov. Daily fees are $2 for ages 4 to 17, $3 for 18 to 49, $2 for 50 or older and free for 3 or younger. An all-summer pool pass, for lap and open swim at all six city of Las Vegas pools, is $40 for children, $75 for adults, $40 for seniors 50 or older and $120 for a family of six. A Junior Life Guarding Camp is scheduled from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, June 20-24, July 11-15 and 25-29, and Aug. 8-12 and 22-26, for $150 per week for youths 11 to 14. This is an American Red Cross program in which successful participants will earn essential pool lifesaving skills and Junior Life Guarding certification.
Summerlin community pools: For those who live in Summerlin, The Trails Park and Pool, 9550 Trails Center Drive; Vistas Pool, 11312 Parkside Way; and Willows Pool, 2775 Desert Marigold Lane, are open through Sept. 5. Spring hours for all Summerlin pools are from noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through May 22.
Trails Pool summer hours run May 22 through Aug. 11 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday through Sunday. From Aug. 12 through Sept. 5, hours are from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
Willows Pool summer hours are from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily through Sept. 5.
Vistas Pool summer hours are from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily May 28 through Sept. 5.
Purchase season passes from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Trails, Willows and Gardens community centers. Each Summerlin Council swim pass entitles the cardholder access to the Trails and Willows pools. Summerlin membership ID cards are required to purchase passes. The cost is $30 per person, per season. Only checks are accepted, made payable to The Summerlin Council. Daily fees are $3 for resident adults and $2 for a resident child ages 2 to 17. For nonresidents, the cost is $5 and $3, respectively. Wet’n’Wild Las Vegas: The park at 7055 S. Fort Apache Road is open for the 2016 season, including select May dates and daily from Memorial Day weekend through Aug. 25; Labor Day weekend, Sept. 5-7; and Saturdays and Sundays through Sept. 25. Blackout dates for private events may apply. Operating hours are set to be from 10:30 a.m. to 5, 6, 8 or 10 p.m., depending on the day. JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort Pool: The pool at the JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort, 221 N. Rampart Blvd., is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and will be open until 8 p.m. beginning May 27. Pool membership and day access is available for purchase at the pool towel hut located at the entrance gate. Membership is valid seven days a week but excludes holidays. In addition to daily access to the resort pool during regularly scheduled pool hours, members receive discounted cabana rates and a discount on menu items at the Waterside Cafe. Individual membership is $150 per month or $495 for the season, while a family pass is $250 per month and $795 for the season, which includes two adults and up to three children, or one adult and up to four children, with a maximum of two adults. Day access is available Monday through Friday only, and excludes holidays and blackout dates. The cost for ages 16 or older is $15, $8 for 6 to 15 and free for 5 or younger. Anyone 15 or younger must be accompanied by an adult (maximum three children per adult).
