Man found dead inside dumpster identified
The man whose body was discovered in an apartment complex dumpster Tuesday has been identified by the Clark County coroner’s office.
The body of Richard Fierro, 73, of Las Vegas, was found in a dumpster in Allanza at the Lakes in the 8600 block of Starboard Drive, near Durango Drive and Sahara Avenue, Metro homicide detective Lt. Ray Steiber said.
Fierro lived in the apartment complex, Steiber said.
Police think he may have died from a medical problem. It is unclear how he ended up in the dumpster.
An officer at the scene said there was no evidence of trauma to Fierro’s body and nothing was missing from his nearby apartment. He lived alone, according to the officer.
The cause of Fierro’s death remains under investigation by the coroner’s office.
