A 64-year-old inmate died in a state prison in Carson City on Friday, the Nevada Department of Corrections announced Saturday.

Charles McCorkle, from Washoe County, was housed at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center, the corrections department said.

He was serving consecutive sentences of 48 months to 120 months for possession of a stolen vehicle. He was also serving a consecutive 24-to-60-month sentence for battery causing substantial harm. He had been in prison since October 2011.

The coroner from the Carson City Sheriff’s Office will determine cause of death.
