The Nevada Taxicab Authority voted on Thursday to not approve the recommendations from state Audit Committee report that was highly critical of the authority.
The audit found Southern Nevada taxi companies took advantage of their customers to the tune of $47 million in unnecessary fuel surcharges and overpriced credit-card fees.
The audit, submitted to Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval, recommended various options, including turning its regulatory responsibilities over to either the Nevada Transportation Authority or a county board.
