Aviation officials seek lease termination for North Las Vegas Airport eatery

The Clark County Department of Aviation will ask county commissioners on Tuesday to terminate the lease and operating agreement for the Perfect Landing Restaurant, which closed July 6 at the North Las Vegas Airport.
The restaurant, which is owned by Steven Lucas, has failed to pay any business fees to the county fees since January, according to county documents. The department sent Perfect Landing a past due notice on April 23, a default notice on July 28 and a notice of termination on Sept. 4.
Under a July 1 agreement with the county, the restaurant was suppose to pay 5 percent of its gross revenues each month with a monthly minimum guarantee of $800. The agreement was updated in November to give the county 25 percent of the restaurant’s net earnings from slot machine revenues. The restaurant never added any slot machines, though.
Perfect Landing’s closing was first announced in the airport’s newsletter in July, although no reason for the closing was given.
Department of Aviation spokesman Chris Jones said future plans for the space occupied by the restaurant are still being discussed.
