Comedian delays radio show debut

Comedian Brad Garrett is indefinitely delaying the soft launch of his Las Vegas radio show that was to debut on Sept. 6 from his new home at the Tropicana.

"He has some scheduling issues so we pushed it back," said Bob Agnew, program director for CBS affiliates KXNT-AM, 840 and 100.5 FM. "We'd rather get it right than push it."

The show, titled "Monday Night Live," will air on both KXNT and 100.5 FM, the new station that starts simulcasting with KXNT at 5 a.m. Monday.

Meantime, Fox Radio affiliate KDOX-AM, 1280 became the latest to add the FM component.

KDOX programming will also be heard on 102.3 FM.

KDOX recently picked up the former afternoon team at KNXT, Casey Hendrickson and Heather Kydd, who had the No. 1-rated afternoon news show. Their new show debuts Monday on both KDOX stations at 9 a.m.

KXNT's new main morning guy, Joe Gillespie, moves into the 6-9 a.m. news slot starting Monday.

Elsewhere, former KJUL star Duke Morgan is returning to the air. He's completed two projects since being laid off at KJUL in April. One is a radio show that he has created and produced titled Duke Morgan's Boomer Days.

The one-hour show is directed at baby boomers. with music from 1946 and 1964. It begins airing in early October on Yesterday USA.com, StayTuned America.com and Montocoradio.net.

Morgan also wrote a children's book titled "Puppy Pilots." A CD of the book Duke produced and voiced in character will accompany the book, which goes to print in September and will be available in early October.

SENTIMENTAL JOURNEY

Alison Arngrim, who played the much-despised Nellie on NBC's long-running TV series "Little House On the Prairie," struck gold Friday at the Gold and Silver Pawn Shop, home of the "Pawn Stars."

She found a lunch box from the "Bonanza" marketing campaign during the show's run from 1959 to 1973.

Pictured on the lunch box were the Cartwrights: Ben (Lorne Green), Hoss (Dan Blocker) and Little Joe (Michael Landon), who starred in "Little House on the Prairie" with Arngrim.

Arngrim, who earlier this year came out with the book "Confessions of a Prairie Bitch: How I Survived Nellie Oleson and Learned to Love Being Hated," is at the Onyx theater tonight.
