Harrah’s Laughlin updates poker offerings

Harrah's Laughlin recently announced changes to its poker tournament offerings including opportunities for a losing bad beat and a $10,000 seat in the next World Series of Poker.

Poker players participating in the new bimonthly Free Roll tournaments may win their share of cash or a coveted seat in the World Series of Poker main event, currently being held at the Rio in Las Vegas. Free Roll tournaments are held the first and third Monday of each calendar month.

Poker enthusiasts qualify by playing 15 hours or more in the poker room during each two-week period for the next tournament. Qualifying play includes any cash games, excluding tournaments, offered in the poker room.

The top 10 players will be paid out at each bimonthly tournament with a guaranteed $3,000 prize pool. The top two players in each bimonthly tournament advances to the Harrah's Laughlin World Series of Poker Invitational Tournament (date to be determined). The winner of the invitational tournament will be awarded a $10,000 seat at next year's main event at the Rio.

Harrah's Laughlin brings back the bad beat progressive jackpot with the no-limit jackpots starting at $2,500 and limit jackpots starting at $1,000. The initial qualifying hand to win any bad beat progressive jackpot is aces full of jacks or higher beaten by a four-of-a-kind or better.

Once the jackpot is claimed, the prize will reset to starting levels. Both winning and losing hands must be the best possible combination of five cards which must include the players' hole cards. The best losing hand will pay 50 percent of the jackpot, the best winning hand will pay 30 percent and the table share will be the remaining 20 percent of the jackpot.

Harrah's Laughlin daily poker tournaments were refreshed providing more chances to enter. All daily tournaments are no-limit Texas hold 'em. Tournaments held Monday and Tuesday at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. feature a $40 buy-in and $5 optional bonus buy and 15-minute blind levels with players receiving $2,000 (buy-in) and $2,000 (bonus buy) in tournament chips.

Tournaments held Wednesday and Thursday at 10 a.m. are bounty tournaments with a $50 buy-in, $5 optional bonus buy, 15-minute level blinds with players receiving $2,000 (buy-in) and $2,000 (bonus buy) in tournament chips. A $5 bounty is awarded for every player eliminated. The 7 p.m. tournament features a $60 buy-in, $5 optional bonus buy, 15-minute blind levels with players receiving $2,000 (buy-in) and $2,000 (bonus buy) in tournament chips.

Friday 10 a.m. tournaments. feature a $60 buy-in, a $5 optional bonus buy, 15-minute blind levels with players receiving $2,000 (buy-in) and $2,000 (bonus buy) in tournament chips. The 7 p.m. tournament features a $100 buy-in with a single $50 add-on, 20-minute blind levels with players receiving $3,000 (buy-in) and $3,000 (add on) in tournament chips. Add-ons may be made at anytime during the first two levels.

Tournaments held on Saturday at 10 a.m. feature a $40 buy-in, a $5 optional bonus-buy, 15-minute blind levels with players receiving $2,000 (buy-in) and $2,000 (bonus buy) in tournament chips. The 2 p.m. tournament, Monster Stack, features a $160 buy-in, no add ons, 30-minute rounds with players receiving $10,000 in tournament chips. The 7 p.m. tournament features a $120 buy-in, $10 option bonus buy, 20-minute blind levels with players receiving $3,000 (buy-in) and $2,000 (bonus buy) in tournament chips.

Tournaments held on Sunday at 10 a.m. feature a $40 buy-in, $5 optional bonus-buy, 15-minute blinds with players receiving $2,000 (buy-in) and $2,000 (bonus buy) in tournament chips. The 2 p.m. tournament is a bounty tournament with a $70 buy-in, $5 optional bonus-buy, 20-minute blind levels with players receiving $2,000 (buy-in) and $3,000 (bonus-buy) in tournament chips. A $10 bounty is awarded for every player eliminated. The 7 p.m. tournament features a $40 buy-in, $5 optional bonus-buy, 15-minute blind levels with players receiving $2,000 (buy-in) and $2,000 (bonus buy) in tournament chips.

The poker room offers daily aces cracked, four-of-a-kind, straight flush and royal flush progressive promotions. The poker room also offers free poker lessons available daily at 9 a.m. Player tracking for Total Reward members continues to be available.
