Holly Madison prepares for motherhood

Burlesque star Holly Madison is leaving the limelight to be the mommy next door.

Madison and her boyfriend, Pasquale Rotella, confirmed her pregnancy Wednesday, hours after she tweeted a photo of a Chinese fortune cookie that read: "The current year will bring you much happiness."

There were hints along the way that Madison, a former girlfriend of Hugh Hefner and co-star of "The Girls Next Door," was moving toward a new chapter in her life.

After she announced in May she would be leaving her headliner job in "Peepshow" at Planet Hollywood on Dec. 30, my colleague, Mike Weatherford, wrote on June 7 that "perhaps Madison doesn't want to be tied to a stage."

He quoted Base Entertainment's Scott Zeiger, producer of "Peepshow," as saying Madison has "personal plans in her future that I'm sure you'll hear about."

In July, In Touch magazine reported she planned to adopt a child from Africa or Korea. That came as a surprise to this reporter because Madison indicated two weeks earlier she wanted to start a family "the old-fashioned way" and hoped to be pregnant when her contract ended Dec. 30.

Rotella is the CEO of Los Angeles-based Insomniac Events, which includes the Electric Daisy Carnival. The festival moved to Las Vegas a year ago.

Base Entertainment released a statement wishing Madison "a happy and healthy pregnancy" and said a casting announcement could be coming soon.

CHIPPS ON 'AMAZING RACE'

Two members of the Chippendales in Las Vegas will be competing on the upcoming season of "The Amazing Race" on CBS.

Jaymes Vaughan, who hosts the Chippendales' shows at the Rio, and James Davis, guitar player and dancer, will make up Team Chippendales.

The series airs at 8 p.m. on Sundays (KLAS-TV, Channel 8).

THE SCENE AND HEARD

Casino exec and poker icon Bobby Baldwin and Audra Hendley were married Aug. 2 at their Southern Highlands home. They met by chance about seven years ago when she was working for a major cosmetics brand. She has a child from a previous marriage. Baldwin, who is president and CEO at CityCenter, and his previous wife, Donna, a former Miss Nevada, divorced in 2006 after a 13-year marriage.

Steve Schirripa, the former Riviera entertainment director who found fame on "The Sopranos," will reunite with three former cast mates in Schirripa's book-to-movie "Nicky Deuce." The new Nickelodeon kids movie is shooting in Montreal, which doubles for Brooklyn. Schirripa will be joined by his "Sopranos" sidekicks Tony Sirico, Michael Imperioli and Vince Curatola "and maybe more," he said by telephone. Schirripa, who wrote the book five-plus years ago, plays the uncle to lead actor Noah Munck, a fish-out-of-water teen. Munck co-starred as Gibby in Nickelodeon's hit series "iCarly."

A Las Vegas T-shirt company, Corporate Graffiti, will probably be hearing from Britain's royal palace. The company is coming out with a tee titled "Royal Family Billiards Team." A likeness of the prince is shown holding a pool cue.

THE PUNCH LINE

"Lindsay Lohan has been in and out of the slammer more times than you would care to count. Now she is a person of interest in a jewel heist. She's already picking out her inappropriate outfit for her next court date." - David Letterman
