PETTING ZOO PALS

Nicole Garza, 18 months old, gets acquainted Wednesday with one of the goats at the new children's petting zoo at the Southern Nevada Zoological-Botanical Park. The 3-acre zoo, at 1775 No. Rancho Drive in Las Vegas, is the only year-round zoo in Nevada and has a variety of plants and animals. It is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $8 for adults, and $6 for children and senior citizens. Children under 2 are free.
