Scholarships provide opportunity for many students

Dear Friends,
The College of Southern Nevada is the largest and most diverse college in Nevada. For 40 years, CSN has delivered affordable, quality education to more than 1 million students living and working in our communities. CSN's students are your neighbors, co-workers and family members. CSN graduates are nurses, gaming executives, executive chefs, bankers, teachers, firefighters and small business owners.
As chair of the CSN Foundation, I have the privilege to meet numerous CSN students. I am constantly amazed at the challenges students face in order to remain in school. A majority of the students are the first generation in their family to attend college. Many are supporting families.
Some students have lost their jobs or lost wages due to reduced hours and layoffs. Students with jobs are struggling to pay for college expenses due to increased costs of tuition and everyday items such as gas and groceries.
Many CSN students need financial assistance. Current scholarship donations are available to help only 3 percent of qualified students. We need to increase scholarship opportunities and help more students. We need your help.
You can help by making a gift of any size to the CSN Foundation Today and Tomorrow Fund. Your gift will be combined with others to pay tuition and book costs for deserving students. You can also establish a named scholarship to recognize your company or a family member.
I encourage you to make a scholarship gift by calling 651-7301 or logging on to www.csn.edu and choosing the Donate Now button.
Your gift will make a significant difference in the life of a CSN student and will help build a better community for all of us.
