Swiss rock star ID’d as victim in I-15 crash

Swiss rock star Stefan "Steve" Lee, frontman for the band Gotthard, was identified as the motorcyclist killed Tuesday after being struck by a semitrailer while parked on Interstate 15 about 10 miles south of Mesquite.

Nevada Highway Patrol trooper Joseph Fackrell said the crash occurred about 5:15 p.m. on northbound I-15 near mile marker 105.

Fackrell said Lee, 47, was traveling with a group of motorcyclists. They had pulled over to put on rain gear when a semitrailer swerved at the group, striking Lee, who died at the scene.

No one else was injured.

Gotthard is one of Switzerland's most successful bands, selling millions of albums and having played alongside Deep Purple, Whitesnake and Bon Jovi.
