Teen killed in rollover accident in Moapa Valley

A teenager was killed in a accident on Airport Road in Moapa Valley around 1 p.m. Tuesday, according to Las Vegas police officials.

Tristan Ables, 17, of Logandale was driving southbound on Airport Road near the intersection of Ross Avenue when his 2006 Ford pickup drifted off the right side of the road.

Ables then tried to re-enter the road, but overreacted and lost control of the truck.

The truck then rolled over into the shoulder and landed on its roof near Joan Avenue.

Two passengers were able to get out of the truck unharmed.

Ables died at the scene.

It was the ninth traffic-related fatality in the department's jurisdiction in 2013.
