Two injured when car jumps median, strikes CAT bus

Two people were taken to area hospitals with nonlife- threatening injuries Thursday after a crash involving a Citizens Area Transit bus near the corner of Lamb Boulevard and Boulder Highway, Las Vegas police said.

Officer Bill Cassell said the collision occurred about 11:16 a.m. when a 19-year-old man driving a Chevrolet Impala south on Lamb lost control and the car jumped the median into oncoming traffic. The Impala struck a bus stop, a CAT bus and a light pole. The car's bumper flew off and struck a 45-year-old woman who had exited the bus.

Cassell said drugs and alcohol might have been a factor in the crash.

The injured woman and unidentified Impala driver were taken to hospitals.

The driver could face criminal charges pending the conclusion of the police investigation, Cassell said.
