ZACK BROWN WINS PBR TITLE

Zack Brown covered each of his three bulls to win Sunday’s PBR event at ARCO Arena in Sacramento, Calif.
The cowboy from Santa Fe, Texas, scored 262.5 points to win $29,708.
“This weekend was great,” Brown said. “I feel good, I’m riding great, and I’m staying healthy. I’m just staying focused and feel that I have a good shot at having a successful year.”
Brown went into the Built Ford Tough Championship Round in second place to earn the No. 2 spot in the PBR bull draft for the championship round. He selected All In of Naccarato Bucking Bulls and was scored for 90 points, giving him the event title.
“I chose All In for the short round in Fresno (Calif.) and he ended up bucking me off,” Brown said. “I had the chance to pick him here so I went for a rematch and was successful.”
In round one, Brown rode Kaycee Simpson’s Cowboy Joe for 85 points. He followed that with an 87.5-point ride on Narley, which is owned by Tim Hopkins Bucking Bulls.
Dustin Elliott of North Platte, Neb., placed second in the event while Austin Meier of Kinta, Okla., came in third.

TOP BULL RIDERS AT SOUTH POINT
Professional bull riding returns to Las Vegas on Friday and Saturday nights with the Championship Bull Riding World Championship at the South Point Equestrian Center.
The series, which is owned by legendary rider Tuff Hedeman, will feature a close championship race between points leader Danny McDowell of Longview, Texas, and Cooper Kanngiesser of Attica, Kan., who trails McDowell 3111.9 to 3052.4 in season points.
Among the 43 riders expected to compete in the $200,000 event are 2008 National Finals Rodeo qualifiers: Wesley Silcox (2007 PRCA world champion), Steve Woolsey, Danell Tipton, Cody Hancock and Chance Smart.
