Tickets for Mayweather Jr.-Alvarez fight sold out

Less than 24 hours after going on sale and despite prices ranging from $350 to $2,000, tickets for the Sept. 14 megafight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Saul “Canelo” Alvarez at the 16,200-seat MGM Grand Garden are sold out, the promoter announced Wednesday.

Golden Boy Promotions also announced Wednesday that the fight will be shown on closed-circuit television at six MGM Resorts Strip properties: the MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, Aria, The Mirage, Monte Carlo and New York-New York. Tickets, priced at $100 plus applicable fees, go on sale Friday at the MGM Grand box office for that property’s closed-circuit telecast. Public sale for the other five properties will be announced at a later date.
