Five members of the 1990 UNLV national championship team found a way to honor their former coach, the late Jerry Tarkanian who died at the age of 84 last week.
The players — Larry Johnson, Anderson Hunt, Stacey Augmon, Chris Jeter and Mo Scurry — hit up a tattoo shop on Tuesday night to get a tattoo in honor of Tarkanian.
“This is how we remember Coach Tark,” Johnson tweeted with a picture of the tattoo design late Tuesday night.
The tattoo features the UNLV logo, 1990 National Champions, RIP Coach Tark and the score of the national championship game.
Tarkanian is being honored Wednesday night following the UNLV men’s basketball game against Boise State by a dimming of the lights on the Las Vegas Strip, an honor only eight people have received.
