Joey Gallo and Bryce Harper were Little League teammates — PHOTO

Joey Gallo posted a picture on Twitter last year of him and Bryce Harper playing together for the same youth baseball team in Las Vegas. The poor kids on the other team are probably still scarred from the experience.

“Way back in the day when me and @Bharper3407 were 8 and 9 years old! #TBT #moundvisit,” Gallo posted.

Harper retweeted the picture, posting “LEGIT!!”

Gallo, a power-hitting Bishop Gorman product and the Texas Rangers’ top prospect, certainly appeared legit in his big league debut Tuesday night, going 3-for-4 with a homer and four RBIs in Texas’ 15-2 rout of the Chicago White Sox.

Gallo became the first player since at least 1914 with at least three hits, three runs and four RBIs in his major league debut.

The 21-year-old talked about his performance and the sacrifices his parents, Tony and Laura, made for him in a postgame interview in which he also receiving the obligatory postgame Gatorade shower from his Texas teammates.
