With Russian curling team out, hockey is now best watch

I’m watching women’s curling at the Winter Olympics. The skip from Sweden has just put the stone exactly where she had to put it on the last throw of the match.

And now the Russian women are out.

If you’re a male who has been watching these Games with red blood coursing through your veins, you know what I’m talking out. You know what this means.

So now I’m deciding if I even want to watch the rest of these Olympics.

It’s Sunday, 11:36 a.m.

Now it’s 12:02 p.m., and the USA men’s hockey team is getting ready to play Slovenia. Doc Emrick, the excellent hockey announcer, says the Americans are wearing sweaters identical to the ones Team USA won in 1960 when they won the gold medal.

“Classic,” says Eddie Olczyk, the other hockey announcer.

Classic indeed.

About a minute into the game, Phil Kessel scores a pretty goal to put the Americans ahead. A few minutes later, Kessel scores again.

OK, I guess I will continue to watch the Olympics. The hockey at least.

But I will miss the Russian women’s curling team.
