Age-qualified Shea Homes at Ardiente offers its residents social clubs

Shea Homes at Ardiente is an age-qualified, resort-style living North Las Vegas community. At its core is a private 20,000-square-foot club, designed specifically for the 55-and-older crowd. It has a fitness center, group exercise studio, pool, spa and game and billiard rooms.
“When we lived in the mountains, we were 65 miles away from stores or anything else. As my wife and I started getting older, we figured it was time to move a little closer to the city and be near our kids. Shea Homes at Ardiente was the only community we visited, and we fell in love at first sight,” said Paul Oldale, homeowner and president of the community’s hiking club.
Residents can participate in a number of social clubs. Some include:
■ Aquacize: This water-based exercise club meets twice a week in the club’s 24-hour outdoor heated pool.
■ Hand and Foot: Similar to the popular card game Canasta, this club meets weekly in the big table game room.
■ Poker: Friendly Texas hold’em: Participants of this club meet four times a week, in the game room.
Ardiente’s community manager, Kyle Tibbitts, said homeowners get the best of both worlds — enjoying a resort-style community, while having the practicality of no electric bills with a SheaXero — No Electric Bill Home, which comes standard.
Through a blend of energy-efficient features and solar power, SheaXero reduces and can eliminate monthly electric bills and save homeowners thousands of dollars a year, Tibbitts said. SheaXero homes start in the low $170,000s.
