‘Big One’ winner Esfandiari eliminated from Main Event in 501st

Good thing he didn’t quit the day job.

“Big One for One” Drop winner Antonio Esfandiari was eliminated Friday afternoon at the World Series of Poker’s Main Event, finishing in 501st place and earning $24,808.

But don’t feel too bad for Esfandiari. His “Big One” victory, which had a $1 million buy–in, earned him a tournament poker record $18.3 million.

Esfandiari is now expected to work with ESPN on its coverage of the $10,000 buy-in No Limit Hold’em World Championship.

On his Twitter feed, Esfandiari thanked his fans.

“Ty everyone for all the support it was a truly spectacular series. Until next year...”
