Southern Nevada-based design/build firm, Blue Heron, has announced the launch of its fifth new-home community, Marquis Seven Hills, on the Rio Secco golf course in Seven Hills in Henderson.
The community will feature 33 custom homes, ranging from $750,000 to more than $3 million.
According to Blue Heron representatives, six homes have already been sold in advance of the official launch, which was held Feb. 17 on-site at 1332 Villa Barolo Ave.
"We made a decision when the housing market began to change that we would not become a victim of market conditions," said Blue Heron principal Tyler Jones. "Instead, we doubled our efforts and focused our attention on adding value to our homes through innovation and hard work. We are a little bit old school in that we believe if you build a better mouse trap, there will always be a market for your product."
Its most recent endeavor was Marquis Las Vegas, a 14 custom-home community, which was launched with the unveiling of the New American Home 2009.
Blue Heron principals said they recognized they were still able to create demand and generate revenue in the high-end real estate market. Principals of the young company attribute the firm's success to advanced green building practices and a very efficient design/build process that they developed in recent years.
"We have worked diligently to offer exceptional new homes that are priced competitively with the resale housing market, while at the same time improving the overall quality of our product," said Blue Heron Principal Tommy Isola. "Our clients understand that if they want an advanced energy-efficient home that is custom designed from the ground up for their family, we offer a great alternative to the older and mundane homes on the resale market."
According to Blue Heron owners, revenue generated from the new community will trickle down to more than 65 different consultants, subcontractors and suppliers who perform work for Blue Heron. In addition, Marquis Seven Hills is expected to create hundreds of jobs.
"Our family has been a part of this community since the 1930s, and we are extremely proud to be contributing to the local economy and creating new jobs when most of the housing news these days is negative," Jones said. "We believe Las Vegas is highly undervalued, and we view the economic downturn as an excellent opportunity to reinvest in our market and secure our stake in the future."
